Beautiful Animation: Lilac Wine by The Cinematic Orchestra

Some animated music videos draw you in so deep and complement the song so well that they become works of art on their own. This piece certainly fits that bill. A perfect visual complement to the rendition of “Lilac Wine” by Cinematic Orchestra, Blind’s morphing animation carries us on a poetic journey both sad and beautiful.

It’s worth noting that the project was commissioned by Dr. Martens as part of their 50th anniversary celebration and features no direct advertising or product placement in the piece. It is refreshing to see companies spending their marketing dollars on creative projects. Enjoy.

The movie features a short story produced using the worlds most famous brands, from McDonalds to Haribo, Audi to MSN. It really is quite bizarre but at the same time completely fantastic!

We’re not going to make a thing of short posts like this, but we felt this was well worth sharing. We would have collected a few more films, but as this one 15 minutes long alone, we decided to keep it (kind of) short and sweet. What do you think of the film? Let us know!
