20 Exhilarating Examples of HDR Photography

HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography is a technique which allows much more dynamic range between the lightest and darkest areas than standard photography.
Multiple photos of the subject are shot in varying exposures then placed into specialist software that combine the images and make a single image.
The effect when done right can be absolutely outstanding, to add some weight to my argument here are 20 examples that will literally take your breath away.

I think images such as “Heaven’s Light” are good examples to not use HDR, but instead enjoy the contrast created with underexposed elements and silhouettes. The texture on that mountain really adds nothing to the image.
The Five-Islands shot for instance loses out on a great deal of atmosphere that could have been achieved with that lit window. Pity.

I must say these are great examples of HDR. It’s not easy to get these results. You can tell by my examples! Great work to all these photographers.
